I graduated high school in the year of 2011. It’s been exactly 5 years since I left high school and all of the emptiness behind. Instead of me doing my typical blog, I wanted to do things differently today. I located one of my poems I wrote in high school and I wanted to share it with you.
I will admit, I was in a dark place in high school. So just bare with the poem.
The sole purpose of my blog is to help people go after their dreams or goals in life, and to get the life God intended them to have.
I decided to do a flashback for today’s blog post.
The After Life
Your move-less body just lays there.
Your cold and for some odd reason you cannot get warm.
You’re watching on the outside as the ones who caused you pain pretend they gave a damn about you.
And the ones who cared the most, just stare with this look.
As if they cannot go on.
You begin to yell, but no one hears you.
As your body is being put into the ground.
And prayers are being said.
Along with all of the goodbyes.
Your soul begins to move on, but gravity won’t let you.
Death isn’t the worst part.
It’s knowing that your loved ones will move on.
What’s the point in dying?
If everything you ever did,
if everyone you ever loved,
if everything you every were,
will be forgotten at the end of the day.
Dying isn’t the worse part.
It’s being forgotten.
Although, I wrote this 5 years ago, I’m no longer afraid of death. When I decided to give my life over to Christ, the fear of death disappeared. I now know when I die, I’ll be going to a much better place.
However, there is something everyone must know. People may forget your name, where you live, your phone number, maybe even what you look like. But people will never forget the way you made them feel and how you impacted their lives. I encourage everyone to make a difference in the world. It’s time to get back to loving and caring about one another, and stop the hatred.
